As you will know from our previous article, Colin Kippin one of our Directors and Head of Tailoring is back in the saddle. Colin tells me that his selected event, the MTB challenge for the British Heart Foundation is getting close. He will be riding in the South Downs mountain bike event on 29th July 2018, along with one of our past colleagues from SchemeServe.
Colin tells me that he is hoping to complete this challenge in less than 3 hours. The route however has 1,300 feet of uphill climb, so it’s not going to be easy. Colin says “To back up my normal cross country training I have now purchased a road bike and will do some longer rides as the event day approaches”.
The riding bug seems to be spreading as Colin’s wife is now riding most weekends too. They also have some friends joining them on a Sunday morning for a ride. “It’s good to see people getting out in the fresh air getting fit and its all free” says Colin. “We have all just signed up for the Fairleigh Hospice ride in September, that’s a more starter/family event but it’s for a great cause”.
More posts to follow and of course lots of pictures on the actual day in July, in the meantime feel free to sponsor me!
