Adam will try to convince you he invented Software-as-a-Service. He’s been running web-based software companies since 15, when still at grammar school, and over the years has migrated between Oxford, Cambridge and Italy. He has programmed most things: real-time Forex and futures trading systems, 3D games, medical software, music production apps… He passes his (precious) spare time penning classical music, trading Bitcoin and reading Wikipedia. He wants SchemeServe to be perfect.
Andy has 8 years experience working for a personal lines broker, starting off as a sales agent. He moved forward into various different roles before discovering web design. Andy then combined his insurance knowledge and web design skills, to write content for a number of different insurance brands. Before joining SchemeServe, he spent time in local government as a web developer, building websites and supporting staff. In his spare time, Andy likes to run, a lot!! He has undertaken many different races, from the London Marathon to a 5k obstacle course dressed as Santa. Andy loves football and likes to play video games. He enjoys unwinding in the many different local pubs where he lives.
I bring with me over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, spanning a variety of roles including sales, customer service, complaints handling and branch management. I have also worked in a number of IT help-desk and quality assurance management positions which I believe provides a winning combination of experience with which to start my journey as a Wunderwriter!
In my free time I play a lot of music; I have been a singer and a guitarist for many years and occasionally write my own music. I can often be found in the gym or going for a drive. To unwind I enjoy playing video games or taking my beautiful little Shih Tzu, JJ, for a walk in the countryside!
An insurance man for 40 years, Colin is our Scheme architect and leader of our Wunderwriter Team. During his many years of being in a touring rock band and not being able to make ends meet back at home, Dave levelled up his tech skills by learning frontend engineering primarily in the back of a van on the motorway. These days Dave can be found pushing his fitness to the limits through running, road biking and fighting Muay Thai.
With nearly 15 years experience in the insurance industry, James has had a variety of roles including; customer service, compliance, management, product operations, underwriting and development. Along with his keen eye for technical knowledge, his wide range of experience brings new and valuable insights to SchemeServe. In his spare time, he has a passion for both tabletop and PC gaming, and he also runs a popular Victorian Re-enactment Society. He can often be found at weekend events around the UK in historical uniform, directing the troops of his society in battle. His ‘claim to fame’ is having received the equivalent of a knighthood, by the Zulu King at the 140th anniversary Zulu War events in South Africa.
James has spent 10 years gaining insurance experience working for a personal lines broker in a number of roles, from tea boy to Account Manager. Before joining SchemeServe he spent two years in advertising sales, but the draw back to insurance was too great. In his spare time James is heavily involved in scouting, organising and participating in a number of camps, he also enjoys playing cricket (and apart from not being able to bat, bowl or field considers himself to be quite good).
Jana spent nearly a decade at Marsh, looking after an international portfolio of clients in all matters of insurance with a focus on financial products, valuable property and cargo. Her experience of tailoring insurance products and responding to market changes has been invaluable within SchemeServe, where she designs and builds online distribution channels for her client’s insurance products. In her spare time, she likes to keep fit playing 5 a side and practising Krav Maga.
Jessica spent 6 years in Recruitment before coming to her senses and realising Testing was the way forward in life, due to her incredibly picky nature. When not picking apart Developer’s work, Jessica spends her time with her boyfriend, her family, in the pub, watching rugby, on her Playstation or any combination of the above.
Lee is a professional Software Engineer with experience in full-stack development. When not writing his own biography, Lee spends his days lifting massive weights, being incredibly hunky, saving orphans from burning buildings, playing video games, solving world hunger, and thinking about the future of the universe.
Marc’s spent most of his web & software development career living on the front-end, creating & turning modern design ideas into functional fun! When not tending to his healthy habit of programming and problem solving, Marc can be seen bobbing on the horizon awaiting the right wave, or making some wacky music. Fun fact – Marc used to be in a relatively successful touring metal band, playing to thousands of fans across Europe.
Michaela has held both Compliance (but don’t hold it against her!) and Customer Service roles in the GI market for the last 15 years working for insurers and MGAs, so she understands the requirements of all parties when building and managing schemes. Her overriding role has always been one of problem-solving, really getting to the core of an issue and identifying the necessary steps to resolve the problem. Michaela doesn’t have much spare time between looking after her horse and swimming a few times a week, but when she does she likes to watch the Great British Bake Off and imagine that she might get around to making some of the lovely breads made by the equally lovely Paul Hollywood.
The dark horse of SchemeServe. Rob is our longest-serving programmer and has been working on the software since 2007. Cambridge born and bred, he likes to while away the evenings cooking. He’s also really good at ice skating (truly).
Scott spent 15 years designing and implementing OOP Software Solutions, and has worked with some of the World’s leading companies (including his own!) before joining SchemeServe. When not in front of a computer, Scott likes to go wild walking and camping, carrying all his food for the week. Sometimes he goes canoeing on local rivers (but always with a paddle).
Sean has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry, both running a successful insurance brokerage and MGA. His experience is invaluable when speaking with our customers as he has lived and breathed our system in a real world broking environment. Simon spent over 10 years programming from behind a keyboard, before transitioning across to management. A keen adrenaline junkie, whether that involves going up the mountain or over the edge of the cliff. He learned his management skills not just in the I.T world but also running youth camps and conferences, helping teenagers find a footing in life. He also really likes pie.
Simon studied Business Management at Uni before starting a career in retail management. He became a self-taught Software Developer, after deciding that 10 years in retail management was enough for anyone. The rest of his time is taken up looking after his wife and daughter, but he still manages to still find time to enjoy computer gaming, collectable card games and role play games. Simon is a keen cook and enjoys hill walking, pen and paper cryptography and crosswords if he can find the time.
Suniel spent over 10 years of his career as a Brand Director for one of the UK’s leading travel companies, where he was responsible for the UI/UX and the creative development of the brand. Suniel has a huge interest in all things mindset related and is a qualified Hypnotherapist (don’t look into his eyes for too long!), NLP Practitioner and Master Coach. In his other spare time, he is a keen footballer and an overall sports junkie.
