Adam will try to convince you he invented Software-as-a-Service. He’s been running web-based software companies since 15, when still at grammar school, and over the years has migrated between Oxford, Cambridge and Italy. He has programmed most things: real-time Forex and futures trading systems, 3D games, medical software, music production apps… He passes his (precious) spare time penning classical music, trading Bitcoin and reading Wikipedia. He wants SchemeServe to be perfect.
Adnan has been working on designing and implementing service-oriented, and test-driven, application development for last five years. He has mainly worked in finance & engineering companies. Away from the computer, he enjoys spending time with his wife and little ones who loves being active, and together they enjoy travelling and going for long walks.
Annelise spent several years providing underwriting support to the London Insurance Market before joining SchemeServe, gaining experience and knowledge regarding the processing behind Lloyd's Syndicates. In her free time, Annelise enjoys crochet, video games and learning about ancient history!
Ben brings over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, spanning a variety of roles including sales, customer service, complaints handling and branch management. He has also worked in a number of IT help-desk and quality assurance management positions which he believes provides a winning combination of experience with which to start his journey as a Wunderwriter!
In his free time he plays a lot of music; he has been a singer and a guitarist for many years and occasionally writes his own music. He can often be found in the gym or going for a drive. To unwind he enjoys playing video games or taking his beautiful little Shih Tzu, JJ, for a walk in the countryside!
Beth studied Mathematics at Cambridge where she fell in love with rowing (turns out being 5"11 really helps!) along with a love of exercising early in the morning and coffee. She also loves board, card and computer games - what is better than gamified problems with friends? Naturally she pursued a career as a Software Engineer and has done so for over 10 years. Also, cats rule!
Caitlin has worked in the design industry for over 8 years and was previously Creative Director in a design agency. Her main background is in website design/build, graphic design and digital project management. She joins SchemeServe as UX Designer!
In her spare time, Caitlin loves to travel to exotic places and try new things – including eating fried Scorpions in Cambodia! She also loves to be outdoors and can often be found camping, kayaking or hillwalking with her husband and dog.
Callum has previously had experience in the Health Sector manipulating data and creating large scale applications that helped NHS Hospitals and Practices across the UK.
He loves a range of sports from Rugby to Football but especially Formula 1 that he has grown up with since he was a teenager, he's a big fan of Max Verstappen! He also enjoys gaming on his computer whenever he has free time.
Starting her career over 8 years ago in insurance Chloe has taken on many roles including sales, compliance, team managing and underwriting. This has given her some amazing experience that has culminated in her role as a Wunderwriter.
You will often find her taking walks in the countryside or enjoying a meal in a country pub with friends and family. She loves to travel, finding new places to explore both in and out of the UK.
An insurance man for 40 years, Colin is our Scheme architect and leader of our Wunderwriter Team. His talents include the ability to build new Schemes quickly and efficiently and to get designs from customers they didn’t know they had in them.Colin is a keen mountain biker, enjoys tinkering with his bikes and is an indoor bowls player.
Daniel has just over 4 years of experience working in the insurance industry, starting out in sales and then being cross trained to mid-term amendments and renewals. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, being out in nature, exercising and playing video games.
Darryl spent several years working as a Lighting Technician in film and theatre,before transitioning into the world of software development.
He has predominantly worked in asset and energy management for supermarkets and hotel management systems. During his free time, Darryl is a massive bookworm, enjoys playing games (both video and board), turning his house into a smart home and exploring new places with his wife.
Passionate about cultures and foreign languages, Federica studied Linguistic Mediation in Rome and then moved to London to follow her desire to discover the world of marketing, starting a master’s degree at university.Federica is very curious and loves to discover new things. She has played piano for many years and loves having the right music for every situation. Traveling is her greatest passion, together with a good pizza!
With nearly 15 years experience in the insurance industry, James has had a variety of roles including; customer service, compliance, management, product operations, underwriting and development. Along with his keen eye for technical knowledge, his wide range of experience brings new and valuable insights to SchemeServe. In his spare time, he has a passion for both tabletop and PC gaming, and he also runs a popular Victorian Re-enactment Society. He can often be found at weekend events around the UK in historical uniform, directing the troops of his society in battle. His ‘claim to fame’ is having received the equivalent of a knighthood, by the Zulu King at the 140th anniversary Zulu War events in South Africa.
James, known as 'Nabby' at SchemeServe, has 20 years’ experience within the insurance industry working for Brokers, MGA’s & within a software house. Previous roles including customer service, underwriting & helping clients bring new products to market.
He is into running & keeping fit, and can often be seen running half marathons along with the occasional marathon. Loves watching movies (previously worked in a cinema for free tickets) & playing/collecting video games.
Before coming to SchemeServe, Joe was a self-taught developer who had freelanced for about 10 years, as well as working at a digital design agency.
He has played guitar all his life and studied music technology, as well as sound engineering. Music is a huge passion for Joe! He is also into building custom gaming PC’s and staying up to date with the latest tech, Joe wants to start turning his gaming into live streaming and content creation on the side.
He also spent his early 20s travelling through Europe (to 20 different countries!). Joe hopes to soon buy a house, and get a dog to join him on his journey!
Lanre has been a QA engineer for over 3 years, and joins us from an e-commerce background. He also loves Japanese culture and watching/reading anime and manga. He's also a fan of volleyball and F1 and likes to spend time at the gym, walking and spending time with friends and family!
Laura started in insurance 14 years ago as an insurance advisor. She moved into the world of testing when the opportunity arose within her company, spending 8 years testing two new insurance applications and gaining experience working with all end users of the systems put in place.
She chose to leave insurance to follow her passion of travelling and seeing as many new places as possible. Her focus has always been customer service and the customer experience, and spent time managing restaurants on her journey back to insurance. Outside of work she loves to wild swim, hike and convert camper-vans to take her on her travels.
Lesley has been involved in the insurance industry in various ways from sales to account liaison for over 10 years. With a strong background in customer service and complaints handling, has developed skills as a keen problem-solver.
In her spare time Lesley enjoys trying to pry random objects out of her puppy’s mouth, books about the American mafia, tending to her in-laws Alpacas and indulging a mild video game addiction.
Lisa has over 25 years of experience within the insurance industry working for Brokers and MGA's both provincial and nationally. She started her early career with rating guides and issuing manual cover-notes, and moved onto developing and growing multi-million pound accounts, to now working for an international I.T solutions software company! Insurance isn't what she would call rousing, but distribution solutions and its people enthuse her and definitely puts that fire in her belly!
On a personal note what makes her tick is travelling; new places, new cultures, and history. She enjoys meeting new people from all walks of life, and all backgrounds, as well as hearing their stories and sharing hers!
When not travelling she spends time with her family dragging them on random 'drop of the hat' adventures making everlasting memories.
She is excited to be joining SchemeServe and her fellow other purple people, and is motivated to have been given the opportunity to work with so many creative passionate colleagues in delivering a seamless agile I.T solution for the insurance industry!
Manda spent the majority of her 20s working for London based non-profits, studying Person-Centred Counselling, and achieving a First Class degree in Creative Writing. Since 2020 she has been freelancing as a Copywriter, and joins us as Marketing Manager.
She loves animals, swing music, psychology, cake, pesto, ballet and walking to the top of really big hills.
Michaela has held both Compliance (but don’t hold it against her!) and Customer Service roles in the GI market for the last 15 years working for insurers and MGAs, so she understands the requirements of all parties when building and managing schemes. Her overriding role has always been one of problem-solving, really getting to the core of an issue and identifying the necessary steps to resolve the problem.
Michaela doesn’t have much spare time between looking after her horse and swimming a few times a week, but when she does she likes to watch the Great British Bake Off and imagine that she might get around to making some of the lovely breads made by the equally lovely Paul Hollywood.
Michelle’s previous experience lies in insurance, from 2011 she has had various roles in legal underwriting, claims handling and customer service. Being a previous customer of SchemeServe, Michelle draws on a valuable pool of experience from broking, underwriting and customer service.Outside of SchemeServe, Michelle is involved in a variety of musical activities varying from playing tenor saxophone for Petworth Town Band to playing acoustic guitar and singing backing vocals in an all-girl covers band. She also plays the piano and has previously taught this instrument - her favourite classical composer is Chopin.
Nathan is a Chartered Accountant who enjoys numbers, people and building businesses.
He has worked in various sectors, including insurance! A keen cook – with a nose for a decent red wine – he is a dedicated family man with a well-developed interest in travel and interesting new places. Nate has played various sports, but can most recently be found cheering a rugby game or paddling his kayak.
The dark horse of SchemeServe. Rob is our longest-serving programmer and has been working on the software since 2007. Cambridge born and bred, he likes to while away the evenings cooking. He’s also really good at ice skating (truly).
Sean has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry, both running a successful insurance brokerage and MGA. His experience is invaluable when speaking with our customers as he has lived and breathed our system in a real world broking environment. Outside of the office he has a passion for his charity work, loves to travel and is a bit of a petrol head.
I have 27 years experience in the insurance industry working for various software houses. My insurance journey began as an office junior in the Administration/Accounts department before moving into the Underwriting department and testing scheme builds/updates.When I'm not working I love to spend time with my family / friends and finding new places to walk my mischievous dog! I also enjoy watching football and having a season ticket you can find me at most home games (although please don't ask me about the off-side rule!!)
Simon spent over 10 years programming from behind a keyboard, before transitioning across to management. A keen adrenaline junkie, whether that involves going up the mountain or over the edge of the cliff. He learned his management skills not just in the I.T world but also running youth camps and conferences, helping teenagers find a footing in life. He also really likes pie.
Simon studied Business Management at Uni before starting a career in retail management. He became a self-taught Software Developer, after deciding that 10 years in retail management was enough for anyone. The rest of his time is taken up looking after his wife and daughter, but he still manages to still find time to enjoy computer gaming, collectable card games and role play games. Simon is a keen cook and enjoys hill walking, pen and paper cryptography and crosswords if he can find the time.
Stephen has been testing software for almost 10 years, in various industries including insurance and hospitality.
In his spare time he goes for long walks with his wife and relaxes with his 4 cats. At the weekend he paints, plays games and occasionally goes to gigs. He also enjoys travelling to lots of different countries.
Suniel spent over 10 years of his career as a Brand Director for one of the UK’s leading travel companies, where he was responsible for the UI/UX and the creative development of the brand. He has also worked as a UX/UI consultant to multiple businesses helping to create websites, platforms and apps that are intuitive to use, appealing to look at, and providing the user with an experience they enjoy.
Suniel has a huge interest in all things mindset related and is a qualified Hypnotherapist (don’t look into his eyes for too long!), NLP Practitioner and Master Coach. In his other spare time, he is a keen footballer and an overall sports junkie.
Vali is famous among Wunderwriters for her infectious positivity and laugh. Born in Italy, she fully qualified as a lawyer before moving into insurance technology. Combining her fiercely legal approach to detail, and winning personality, she has created a powerful formula for producing compelling digital insurance products in record time. She loves to spend every minute (when not working) with her mischievous little boy. Secret fact: Vali originally wanted to become a vet; she utterly adores animals great and small.
